Personal Response Systems: Clickers in the Classroom
OID offers assistance with using real-time personal response systems, or "clickers" in the classroom.
A personal response system (PRS) can enhance the classroom experience by
providing instructors an electronic way of interacting with students.
Through small remote devices ("clickers"), instructors can poll their
students, ensure key learning points are being absorbed, take attendance, or
give low-stakes quizzes. Unlike asking students to raise their hands in
response to a question, with a PRS system, faculty can receive immediate
classroom feedback while ensuring a student's public anonymity.
In order for clickers to be cost effective for students, OID has standardized and supports the Interwrite PRS system (recently purchased by EInstruction). The two clicker models pictured below can be used in the same classroom.
For more information, contact TEC at 310 206-4599, or our PRS specialist at 310 794-9726
