Blender is an open source application for 3D modeling, animation, rendering and more. While certainly not for the feint-of-heart (and way beyond our expertise), Blender highlights the 10-minute animated movie, "Elephant's Dream" as a showcase of its capabilities. It is released under the GNU General Public License and available for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems. As a free product, it promises to encourage students to experiment in the world of 3D modeling and animation.
