TEC@OID Projects
Example of projects undertaken by the Teaching Enhancement Center.
Blended Instruction Case Studies
Three case studies co-sponsored by campus and OID to develop "blended" course: courses that use a variety of technological elements to offer students and instructors the opportunity to engage with course materials in new ways. We are working with professors and supporting staff in Life Sciences, Political Science and Statistics to develop these courses.
OID Web Site Redesign
The group was tasked to design, develop, and implement a
distributed authoring environment. We chose to use Plone, an open-source
content management system.
The new OID web site also attempts to conform to the following standards:
Test of Oral Proficiency Online Registration Application
The Test of Oral Proficiency is a test designed for prospective international teaching assistants. All international graduate students are required to pass the TOP before they are allowed to work as teaching assistants.
The TOP application helps manage the student registration process and administrative tasks. It is a browser-based Internet application written in ColdFusion and using Microsoft Access as a back-end database.
OID Event Registration Application
The OID Event Registration application is used by OID adminsitrators to publicize events and assemble an attendee list.
It is a browser-based Internet application written in ColdFusion and using Microsoft Access as a back-end database.
