About Photoshop

A brief description of Photoshop: in general, versions, further training.

The Adobe Photoshop application provides the most comprehensive suite of tools for editing digital images. If you do not have access to Photoshop, the Teaching Enhancement Center has both Macintosh and Windows computers equipped with Photoshop for your use.

Adobe Photoshop is a complex and sophisticated application, however even beginners can perform simple image editing tasks. This tutorial will show you how to make simple and specific adjustments. For more general Photoshop training, please see the Video Workshop CD included in the Photoshop software package.

[Version Note: With the exception of the History Palette, all of the following described  adjustments are available in Photoshop Version 3.0 (1993) or later. The History Palette was implemented in Photoshop Version 6.0 (2001).]

There are many ways to go about adjusting the qualities of an image in Photoshop. The following outlines our recommended procedures for addressing issues common to digitally scanned slides.
