TA Assignments, Responsibilities, and Pay Rates

TA:
Your pay rate will depend on your apprentice title, of which there are three. Each has the following requirements and pay rates (amounts represent 2005-2006 rates for 50% time appointments and are subject to change).

• Teaching Assistants

Students who have not completed all requirements for the master’s degree or 36 units of graduate coursework. The 2005-2006 payment rate was $1,675.84 per month.

• Teaching Associates

Students who have completed all requirements for the master’s degree or 36 units of graduate coursework and have one year of collegiate teaching experience. The 2005-2006 payment rate was $1,870.56 per month.

• Teaching Fellows

Students who have been formally advanced to candidacy for the doctorate and have two years of collegiate teaching experience. The 2005-2006 payment rate was $1,964.84 per month.
