Reserves

Professors and Teaching Assistants

If you would like to make a film in the IMCS collection available to your students  you may do so by placing it on reserve for viewing in the Media Lab.

Or, if you have your own legal copy of a film, you may put that on reserve in the Media Lab by taking it in to the IMCS office in 46 Powell. Please have tape labeled with the following information:

  1. Instructor's name
  2. Department
  3. Course number
  4. Phone number and e-mail address

Reserves will be available in the UCLA Media Lab in the morning of the next working day in the Powell Library, room 270.

Instructors may also request that their video reserves be encoded and made available through their course web page via Video Furnace.  We do our best to make these materials available as quickly as possible but it is important to realize that it takes as long to encode a program as it does to watch it--a one hour long program will take one hour to encode, so we appreciate your patience.  Video links are typically completed within a few days of the request.  In order to provide equal access, the physical media will and must also be available for reserve viewing in the Media Lab, Powell 270.

Please call the main IMCS office at (310) 825-0755 to request Video Furnace services for video reserves.

Students

If you missed a film in class (or would like to view it again) and your instructor has placed this item on reserve, you may view this in the UCLA Media Lab. You may contact the Instructional Media Collections & Services to confirm the title you wish to view is in the UCLA Media Lab.

If the film you wish to see is not on reserve, please see policy for student access.
