TOP testing dates are September 14th, 16th, and 22nd

TOP testing dates are now open for registration. Exam dates are September 14th, 16th, and 22nd. These exam dates are for students who would like to be TAs during the 2009-2010 academic year.

Students who plan to work as a teaching assistant (TA) at UCLA and are non-native English speaking international students must pass the TOP before working as a TA in any department at UCLA. Only non-citizens are considered international students. A "native speaker" of English is currently defined by Graduate Division as someone who has learned English from his/her parents.

No alternatives to TOP are accepted. This means for example that Permanent Residents and students who earned undergraduate or graduate degrees in the US must take the exam.

Students who do not plan to work as a teaching assistant (TA) at UCLA do not need to take TOP.
