Faculty Committee on Educational Technology
Charge
The Faculty Committee on Educational Technology was formed in the fall of 2001.
The Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Information Technology charge the FCET to:
- Create a continuing and evolving campus-wide vision and implementation plan for IT in undergraduate instruction
- Make recommendations to the Information Technology Planning Board (ITPB) on key IT infrastructure initiatives that impact undergraduate instruction
- Advise the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and the Deans on matters related to IT in undergraduate instruction
- Provide guidance to the ITPB on all campus-wide matters related to IT in undergraduate instruction
- Evaluate effectiveness of instructional IT services and develop strategies to support continuous improvement
- Develop strategies to enable collaborative proposals in response to external funding opportunities
- Recognize and celebrate the achievements of faculty in enriching undergraduate education using information technology through the Copenhaver Award
Membership
The Faculty Committee on Educational Technology consists of faculty representatives from each of the four divisions of the College and Schools that provide undergraduate instruction, one Assistant Dean, one computing Director, and the Associate Director, Instructional Technology at the Office of Instructional Development.
