TA Conference
Overview
For over three decades, the UCLA Office of Instructional Development TA Training Program has put on a campuswide Teaching Assistant Conference near the beginning of the Fall quarter as a means to help both new and experienced teaching assistants and other graduate students improve their teaching skills. Conference participants receive this assistance primarily through a selection of conference workshops that examine a variety of different aspects of teaching undergraduate students. These workshops are led by experienced UCLA TAs who are enthusiastic about sharing their insights. Topics such as evaluating students, meeting your class for the first time, motivating students, and conducting office hours will be addressed by workshop leaders. In recent years we have added a subset of workshops that help TAs make appropriate use of new technology in their teaching.

While the TA Training Program focuses on training first-time TAs, the Technology TA Consultants Program targets experienced TAs who wish to find solutions to teaching problems through the use of technology.
