OID Administration
Administrative Services provides support to all OID units, and coordinates relationships with the College of Letters and Sciences, the Chancellor’s office, and other UCLA administrative organizations. Administrative Services helps to ensure that all decisions regarding the use of funding for internal operations and outside projects are made with consideration of effective business practices and for maximizing the enhancement of teaching and learning at UCLA.
Administrative Services consists of four units: Financial Services, Human
Resources Administration, Grant Programs Management and Information
Technology Systems.
Financial Services
Financial Services supports OID through accounting and record keeping,
equipment management, forecast and cost analysis, and assisting in
purchasing management. In addition, Financial Services is the central
contact point for vendors, contractors, and our campus clientele for all
questions concerning financial transactions involving OID.
Human Resources Administration
Effective personnel management of up to 200 employees during the academic
year is vital to the functioning of OID. HR Administration provides
support in the areas of payroll, selection and retention, training, and
employee relations.
Grant Programs Management
OID manages the coordination and disbursement of instructional improvement
funds originating from a number of sources, including grants, contracts,
state funds and awards. Grant Programs Management provides fiscal
support to all OID programs in the financial management of this
process.
Information Technology Systems
ITS provides computer and network support to all OID units. This
includes issues related to OID computing criteria, standards, security,
access, and compatibility, in order to ensure that OID remains consistent
with campus wide technology directions. ITS supports the business and
office computing needs of OID, including maintaining the OID file servers,
websites, and archive and backup services.
