When UCLA's professors began posting materials on the World Wide Web, the boundaries regarding Fair Use were vague and unclear. Web usage by faculty is now much more sophisticated yet the Fair Use boundaries remain hazy. With the recent news focusing on record companies taking action against illegal usage of media, including action against universities, instructors are starting to reexamine their own use of media in their teaching practice.

Join us for this lively and interactive Scholarship In A New Media Environment Forum where we will discuss examples of what is legal and what isn't. You will also discover how you can still use copyrighted media materials by taking advantage of The Media Library's services.

Don't forget to download the Handout so you'll be able to follow along with the scenarios as they are discussed.
The legal boundaries may be larger than you think!
