  • Desktop tools that facilitate remote collaborations, say between colleagues examining a 3-D molecular structure in real-time?
  • Customized learning portals, where students can find connect with faculty research projects or locate data in remote databases and work with experts globally?

  • Virtual scholarly collaborations conducted using the web? Seamless connectivity to the Internet from anywhere on campus?

UCLA's Information Technology Planning Board has been examining the future of instructional technology here at UCLA and talking with many individuals on campus about how it can be achieved.

In this forum, several faculty members will discuss the process by which the UCLA IT Vision was crafted, talk about the five areas of emphasis and projects already underway, and discuss with attendees where UCLA is today and how to focus on next steps to implement this vision for the future.
